Silicone Oil / Fluid Group
The Silicone Oil / Fluid Group comprises products that are clear and non-curing and mostly low viscosity.
One of the main characteristics of silicone oil is its insolubility in water and high thermal stability with chemical neutrality. A major benefit of silicone oil compared to a hydrocarbon oil is its non or low flammability.
Silicone oils and fluids are mostly used as a release agent, lubricant, hydraulic fluid, antifoam agent, and polish additive.
Other common applications are in a heating bath for components, wet transformers, diffusion pumps, machinery and automotive wet clutches and in oil filled heaters.
Silicone oil's high surface adhesion allows it to create a protective film on metals, rubbers and plastics, proving anti-corrosion benefits especially for long term storage.
