Silicone Fibre Optic Optical Coupling / Splicing Gel
This non-curing and water insoluable silicone optical coupling and splicing gel is used to eliminate losses in fibre optic cable splicing.
It minimizes loss by reducing the difference in the index of refraction between the mated fibre ends and thereby increases the transmittance of light. The gel closely matches the refractive index and dispersion of fused silica. Reduces Fresnel reflections.
Being non-hardening or non-curing allows for assemblies to be decoupled for repair or splicing.
Transparent and extremely high clarity.
Also used as an optical coupling aid in other electro-optical assemblies.
